MICOLIVE-SE Blimp Windshield & Shockmount System for Shotgun Microphones

The DigitalFoto MICOLIVE-SE is a complete blimp windshield and shockmount system designed to keep shotgun microphone recordings clear in challenging conditions. By combining effective wind shielding with internal shock isolation, it helps reduce unwanted noise from wind, handling, and vibration.

Designed to fit popular RØDE models including NTG1, NTG2, NTG3, NTG4 and NTG4+, the system also accommodates most shotgun microphones up to 12.75 inches in length. An integrated XLR cable within the handle reduces cable movement noise, keeping your audio signal stable during use. The MICOLIVE-SE mounts directly onto a standard boompole via a 3/8″-16 thread, making it a practical solution for location sound work.

How it works

The blimp enclosure surrounds the microphone, creating a barrier that reduces direct wind impact on the capsule. For higher wind conditions, the included furry windscreen adds an extra layer of diffusion to further minimise wind noise.

Inside the blimp, a shockmount suspends the microphone, isolating it from vibrations caused by handling or movement. The integrated XLR cable runs through the handle, reducing cable sway and the noise it can introduce.
