Product Description

The Godox FLS8 8" Optical Fresnel Lens with LB-01 Barn Doors (sometimes known as a Flooter) enables you to focus and amplify the effective output of your lighting by up to 19 times. The beam angle of the Godox FLS8 fresnel lens can be adjusted, allowing you to either produce a small pool of light, or a wide flood of light, giving you access to a plethora of lighting options. The FLS8 Is also great for throwing light over greater distances, making it a perfect accessory for use in larger film and theatrical productions. This kit also comes with detachable barn doors, designed to control the spill and direction of the light, maximising light control. The FLS8 optical fresnel lens is the perfect accessory for Cinematographers, independent Filmmakers, and theatrical productions, that need their lighting to be able to travel over long distances. It can also be used for stills photography, especially for photographers working in commercial, advertising and fashion photography.

What is an Optical Fresnel Lens?

The Fresnel (Freh-Nel) lens is a special kind of lens, developed by French Physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel in the 19th Century. Fresnel lenses consist of a succession of concentric rings etched into glass or plastic. These rings use a combination of total internal reflection and refraction, to focus the light, allowing it to travel over greater distances. Though the Fresnel lens was originally designed for use in lighthouses, they have become a popular tool in the Film, Theatre and Photography industries. Especially if you need your lighting to travel over large distances.

Add More Intensity to Your Lighting

Due to the nature of Fresnel lenses, the Godox FLS8 optical fresnel lens amplifies the light output from the LED light source that it is mounted to by up to 19 times. This is great for times when you need the light from your COB LED Studio Light source to travel over a greater distance. Great for film and theatrical productions.

Variable Beam Angle

The spread of the beam put out by the Godox FLS8 fresnel lens can be adjusted anywhere between 10° and 40°, giving you the ability, to either create a small, controlled pool of light, to a flood of light in your scene.

Solid Construction

The FLS8 optical fresnel lens has been put together with durability and robustness in mind. Made from high-quality materials, the Godox FLS8 has been designed to ensure that any light leaks are kept to a minimum and is rugged enough to endure professional use.

Barn-Doors

This kit also comes with the optional LB-01 8-Leaf Barn Door set, which enables you to precisely shape the light for more creative control, and more cinematic effects.

Bowens S-Type Fitting

The Godox FLS8 optical fresnel lens features a Bowens S-Type bayonet fitting, enabling it to be used with virtually any Bowens S-Type fitting COB LED Studio light.

The Godox FLS8 optical fresnel lens is a necessary tool for anyone that requires a focusable beam, with extra light intensity, or for their light to travel over greater distances. Perfect for cinematographers, independent filmmakers or for theatrical productions. It can also be used for stills photography, especially for photographers working in commercial, advertising and fashion photography.

*NOTE: Not compatible with the Godox M600D or M600Bi, due to their mounting rings. If you require a Fresnel Lens for either of these lights, we recommend the FLS10.

NOTE: Designed for use with LED Lighting Only:

Important Usage Note:

As part of our standard cautionary protocol, please ensure that the shutter is open while the projector is in use. If the shutter remains closed during operation, the lens may overheat and break. The projector should also not be in operation for a long time due to potential overheating issues.
