How the kit works

Godox V100 Speedlite

The V100 provides the flash power at the heart of the setup. With up to 100Ws available, it provides more control when lighting subjects off-camera while retaining the portability and flexibility of a speedlite. Output can be adjusted from 1/256 through to full power, giving you the flexibility to use subtle fill or make the flash a more prominent part of the exposure. Its round flash head provides a smooth light spread with natural-looking fall-off. Flash coverage can be adjusted automatically or manually between 28mm and 105mm.

Godox UB-002 40-inch Black/Silver Bounce Umbrella

The included UB-002 provides a simple and effective way to turn the relatively small V100 flash head into a much larger light source. The speedlite is aimed into the silver interior of the umbrella. The light reflects back towards the subject, spreading it over a wider area and creating a softer but still specular quality compared with direct flash.

Godox S3 S-Type SMART Speedlite Adapter Bracket

Its adjustable clamp securely accommodates compatible speedlites such as the V100 without placing pressure on the flash hot-shoe. The bracket mounts onto a standard 5/8-inch light stand stud/spigot and offers up to ±90° of tilt adjustment. Most importantly for this setup, the S3 has an integrated umbrella slot. The UB-002's 8mm shaft passes through the bracket, allowing the V100 to be positioned so that its output fires into the silver umbrella.

PiXAPRO 190cm Light Stand

The included PiXAPRO stand provides the support needed to move the V100 away from the camera and position the light independently. Raising or lowering the flash and umbrella changes the direction of the light and the position of the resulting shadows, giving you much greater control than simply leaving the flash attached to the camera.
