How the kit works

Godox V480 speedlite

The V480 provides the flash source for the setup, combining a compact form with rechargeable battery power and TTL and manual flash operation. TTL is particularly useful for fast-moving situations where subject distance or shooting conditions change frequently. For more controlled portraits, products and repeatable setups, manual flash operation allows you to establish the output and maintain it between frames.

Godox UB-002 40-inch Black/Silver Bounce Umbrella

Instead of pointing the flash directly towards the subject, the V480 is aimed into the silver interior of the umbrella. The flash reflects back towards the subject over a wider area, producing broader illumination with a softer yet specular character compared with direct speedlite flash.

Godox S3 S-Type SMART Speedlite Adapter Bracket

The V480 is secured in the bracket, while the UB-002 umbrella's shaft passes through the S3's integrated umbrella slot. The bracket then mounts onto the supplied light stand. Approximately ±90° of tilt adjustment allows the flash and umbrella to be angled towards the subject, helping you control the direction of the light and resulting shadows.

PiXAPRO 190cm Standard Light Stand

The supplied PiXAPRO stand allows the flash and umbrella to be positioned independently of the camera. Its adjustable height lets you change the direction from which the light reaches your subject. Raising the light above eye level, for example, gives you greater control over the position and direction of facial shadows than an on-camera speedlite can provide.

Rather than supplying the speedlite alone, this kit includes the flash, umbrella, mounting bracket and stand needed to create a usable off-camera lighting position. Umbrellas provide a simple way to start shaping flash. Open the umbrella, secure it through the S3 bracket, mount the V480 and position the complete assembly on the stand. This makes the kit particularly suitable for photographers moving beyond direct on-camera flash for the first time.
