A flexible two-light continuous LED setup for professional-looking interviews on location, with practical control over key, background and separation lighting.
The Location Interview Lighting Kit is a prosumer-level continuous lighting package designed for videographers, content creators and small production teams shooting interviews away from a permanent studio.
At its heart is the Godox LITEMONS LA600Bi, a powerful bi-colour COB LED light with a 2,800–6,500K colour temperature range and CRI/TLCI ratings of 95+. Paired with the 160cm PiXAPRO parabolic umbrella and diffusion, it can provide a broad, soft key light that can be adjusted to suit the available environment.
A Godox LITEMONS LA300R RGB COB LED provides a second controllable source for backgrounds, practical-looking colour and subject separation. Its RGB capability and 1,800–10,000K CCT range give you considerably more creative flexibility than a conventional second light.
The kit also includes a PiXAPRO FlatPak II 30x120cm strip softbox, a 4x4ft black floppy cutter flag and three C-Stands with grip arms. Together, these provide the physical control needed to shape the light rather than simply illuminating the room.
The LA600Bi provides the main source for the interview. Its bi-colour 2,800–6,500K range allows the light to be matched to the existing environment rather than forcing the entire location to work around one fixed colour temperature.
The 160cm parabolic umbrella gives the LA600Bi a large lighting surface, while its removable diffusion allows you to choose between reflective and more diffused illumination. The deep parabolic design also provides some control over the direction and focus of the light.
The LA300R acts as the second lighting source. Its RGB capability allows it to introduce controlled colour into a background, while its variable CCT range can also be used for more conventional white-light applications.
For interviews where the background needs a little more visual interest, this gives you another way to separate the subject from the surroundings without relying entirely on practical lights already present at the location.
The 30x120cm FlatPak II strip softbox produces a long, narrow source that is particularly useful where space is limited. Its shape lends itself well to controlled side lighting, edge lighting and subject separation.
The hinged design and quick-release speedring make it practical for a location kit where equipment needs to be assembled and repositioned efficiently.
Good interview lighting is as much about controlling light as adding it.
The 4x4ft black floppy cutter flag can block unwanted light, create negative fill or prevent a source from spilling into areas of the set where it is not wanted. Its additional floppy section can also extend the effective blocking area when required.
Three PiXAPRO C-Stands provide the support system for the kit. Their grip arms and 50-inch accessory arms allow lights, flags and modifiers to be positioned independently, giving you considerably more control over the setup than relying on basic light stands alone.
The detachable turtle bases are also useful when working on location, where stands may need to be assembled, moved and packed down regularly.
Rather than simply combining two lights, this kit includes the modifiers and grip equipment needed to actually shape an interview setup. The result is a more complete lighting system for controlled talking-head and interview production.
The LA600Bi provides up to 600W maximum input power and offers 0–100% brightness adjustment, giving you useful control when working in rooms with different levels of ambient light.
The LA600Bi provides bi-colour adjustment, while the LA300R adds RGB colour control and a much wider 1,800–10,000K CCT range. This makes the two lights useful for both natural-looking interviews and more stylised productions.
The umbrella, strip softbox and floppy cutter give you different approaches to shaping the sources. This is particularly useful on location, where the existing room, windows and practical lights can make every interview environment different.
Three C-Stands provide a dedicated support system for the lights and light-control equipment, helping keep the setup organised and giving the operator more positioning options.
Yes. The LA600Bi's 2,800–6,500K colour-temperature range allows the main light to be adjusted to suit different ambient lighting conditions.
Yes. As well as RGB operation, the LA300R has a variable CCT mode covering 1,800–10,000K.
It provides a large source for the LA600Bi, making it well suited to creating broad, soft illumination for an interview subject. The supplied diffusion can be removed when a different quality of light is preferred.
The black floppy cutter is used to block unwanted light and control spill. It can also be used to create shadow or negative-fill effects.
Yes. Their grip and extension arms can be used to position compatible lighting-control equipment such as flags and other accessories.
