TetherBoost Pro USB 3.0 Core Controller

The TetherBoost Pro USB 3.0 Core Controller from Tether Tools is your solution to dropped connections and unstable image transfers during tethered shoots. Whether you're working with a DSLR, mirrorless, or medium format digital back, this compact, rugged power regulator ensures reliable connectivity over long distances, up to 65 feet, without data loss or performance compromise. Modern computers often dynamically manage USB port power to save energy, which can pose major challenges for photographers using USB 3.0-enabled cameras. The TetherBoost Pro combats this by conditioning the power flow between camera and computer, keeping your transfer speeds smooth and stable throughout your session.

Consistent, Clean Power for Demanding Shoots

Photographers know that tethering isn’t just about speed – it’s about stability. The TetherBoost Pro delivers both by regulating USB power, supporting USB 3.1 Gen 1 transfer rates up to 5Gb/s. Designed in a durable aluminium housing with a sleek black finish, it acts as a powered USB bridge between your camera and computer, helping eliminate dropped connections, slow transfers, and failed startups.

Power Versatility with USB DC & AC Options

To further ease the strain on your camera’s battery, the TetherBoost Pro includes a USB DC cable and an AC wall adapter, allowing you to power the connection externally. This is particularly useful during longer shooting sessions where maintaining full USB bandwidth is critical. If you're on the move, the USB DC cable can also be plugged into a portable battery pack (sold separately).

Enhanced Protection with TetherGuard

Also included is the TetherGuard Extension Lock, a secure clamp that locks your cable connections in place to prevent accidental disconnections, physical damage, and electrical hazards. Its twist-to-lock clamshell design is fast, simple, and extremely effective – especially useful during high-movement shoots or when using long cable runs.

The TetherBoost Pro USB 3.0 Core Controller is perfect for photographers, videographers, and digital techs who rely on stable tethering for high-resolution image transfer. It’s especially suited for studio professionals or location shooters working with longer tethering distances and power-demanding setups. If you’ve ever struggled with connection drops or want to extend your tether range without signal loss, this is the essential tool for your kit.
